Staying in contact

In 2009 Rubina Boasman stayed in touch with Dr Lionel McCalman and Dr Abiola Ogunsola by keeping them informed about research that she was doing into what has worked in the past in terms of recruiting bicultural and male students.  These are areas in which UEL seems to have had significant success.

In the beginning

In 2008 a group of teachers from  the Netherlands, led by Rubina Boasman visited the University of East London (UEL). During this visit there was a group discussion on diversity policy and the training of ethnic minority students at UEL.  The visitors were particularly interested in reducing drop out and increasing the retention of ethnic minority students studying to become teachers.

Pictures from that visit will be posted soon.
